Fluorescence Mapping of Agricultural Fields Utilizing Drone-Based LIDAR
نویسندگان
چکیده
A compact and low-weight LIDAR instrument has been developed for laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy sensing of maize fields. Fluorescence had to be installed on a small industrial drone so that its mass was <2 kg power consumption <5 W. The utilized continuous wave diode laser (405 nm, 150 mW) inducing spectrometer backscattered photons acquisition. For field testing, the quadcopter remote plants in three periods plant’s life. obtained signal maps have demonstrated average chlorophyll content is rather non-uniform over tends increase through plant vegetation cycle. Field tests proved feasibility perspectives autonomous agricultural fields from drones detection location under stress.

Extreme Precision Lidar Mapping
To advance earthquake research, a unique LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) survey was conducted to map an approximately 1,000 km segment of the San Andreas Fault in southern California in the spring of 2005. The objective was to produce a surface model along the fault line at extremely high accuracy and consequently, extraordinary care was devoted to all the system components and the mission ...
متن کاملMapping Defoliation with Lidar
The aim of this article is to present a concept of using airborne laser scanning (LIDAR), with one scan only, to map defoliation as a forest health variable. The idea is to apply two independent algorithms on the LIDAR data set, to produce both actual and expected leaf area index (LAI) values for every cell in a grid over the area. LAI is estimated based on laser pulse penetration through the c...
متن کاملAirborne mapping using LIDAR
Mapping is a central and common task in robotics research. Building an accurate map without human assistance provides several applications such as space missions, search and rescue, surveillance and can be used in dangerous areas. One application for robotic mapping is to measure changes in terrain volume. In Sweden there are over a hundred landfills that are regulated by laws that says that th...
متن کاملMapping Secondary Forest Succession on Abandoned Agricultural Land with LiDAR Point Clouds and Terrestrial Photography
Secondary forest succession on abandoned agricultural land has played a significant role in land cover changes in Europe over the past several decades. However, it is difficult to quantify over large areas. In this paper, we present a conceptual framework for mapping forest succession patterns using vegetation structure information derived from LiDAR data supported by national topographic vecto...
متن کاملFluorescence lidar imaging of historical monuments.
What is believed to be the first fluorescence imaging of the facades of a historical building, which was accomplished with a scanning fluorescence lidar system, is reported. The mobile system was placed at a distance of ~60 m from the medieval Lund Cathedral (Sweden), and a 355-nm pulsed laser beam was swept over the stone facades row by row while spectrally resolved fluorescence signals of eac...
